----------------- A B C – Person, Place or Thing--------------------------

(This is a game I devised myself.)

The answers are from the King James Bible

Each player chooses a letter of the alphabet and a subject. (Person place or thing)  When a question has been used it can not be used again in the same game.   A point, of course is awarded for each correct answer

EXAMPLE:

LETTER  M

Person: Sister to Mary and Lazarus -----------------Martha

Place: Country where Moses went to after killing the Egyptian----Midian

Thing: Jesus first baby bed --------------------------Manger

LETTER  T

Person: The disciple who doubted Jesus’ resurrection ---------Thomas

Place: The city to which Paul wrote 2 letters-----------Thessalonica

Thing: The crown the soldiers put on Jesus was of ----Thorns

TRIVIA

Everyone is familiar with trivia games.  Each lesson begins with 5

Trivia questions.  These can be asked at the end of the lesson to see

How much each student has learned or can be asked as a review game

Several times during the course of the lesson series to refresh memory.

SWORD DRILL

This can be played with any translation of the Bible

Then, of course, you can’t forget the old game Sword Drill.   This game has been around since I was a child.  Basically, for anyone who may have missed this one, the players start with Bibles in closed position, the leader calls a Bible reference twice, than says DRAW.  This is the signal to start and the first to find the verse is the winner.  This works best when played in team.  Make sure every player has found the verse before the winner reads the verse.

To make the game more interesting and challenging,  I have

created a list of references that include at least 2 from every

book of the Bible.  Each verse has a message.

EXAMPLES

I Peter 5:7                      Joshua 11:15                       Psalms 27::1

Esther 2:16                     I John 4:19                         II Timothy 1:3

Jude 21                           I Kings 3:9                         Exodus 6:2

There are many other games that I have simply modified

to fit into the lessons in use at the time.

For example scores can be kept with model race cars.
